Dear All,
The following was also sent to your email account. Please note that the deadline for the stuff that are about to be highlighted is due today. Please make an effort to contact Nuanxin regarding the issues in the email, or we will be going ahead with everything that is going to be listed, and you're going to have the bear the cost of making any changes yourself.
I believe enough time has been given for these matters, so please settle them soonest. No further delays will be welcomed, nor will further grace periods be entertained.
As directly quoted from Nuanxin's email:
There's some stuffs which I'll need you all to do:
1. In addition to checking for your passport expiry, please check your particulars at bhbh3.blogspot.com. Download <bhbh3membersparticulars> under the shared folder. Inform me about any changes to be made. If I don't receive any news from you, I'll take it that all the information are correct ok?
2. For those who haven't submitted your medical form and/or indenmity form (I'm sorry but your name is highlighted in the file), please pass them to me on 09/04 (Mon) 6pm Arts walkway! For those who really have problems with that, please contact me and arrange for something else.
3. For those who are going for extended trip, one last chance to give me the information of your destination and period of stay overseas. If not, by default, I'll buy an insurance policy which will cover your stay in the Philippines from 16 May to 5 June on your behalf. Any other changes after that may require you to pay much more than the add-ons. Dateline for this is 10/04 11 pm(I'm NOT going to extend the dateline again)
For those who somehow miss my previous email on insurance, the insurance rates (applicable to Asia only) are as follows:
up to 22 days - $68
up to 27 days - $78
up to 31 days - $89
up to 38 days - $102
up to 45 days - $115
after which, every additional 7 days - $13
Hence, it's more worth it to top up your insurance than to buy another one outside. For e.g. you go for bhbh3 for 21 days then you go for 5-day holidays. You'll be subsidised under yep for the first 21 days ($68) but you'll have to pay $33 for an additional separate insurance. However, you'll only need to pay $10 if you top up your insurance. For those who are going to Europe or some other places, I'll help you check out the rates and get back to you soon, don't worry =)
Alright, that's all for now. I hope I'm not bombing your mailbox with all the reminder emails.

Dear All,
I hope you all enjoyed the little break we had! Anyway, just to update all of you guys on some issues, and also to remind you guys of whatever is happening and all alright?
Donations wise is going pretty smoothly, though I hope that everybody can help by asking your own family and friends for donations! I'm sure they'll be more than happy to offload their stuff to you, as long as it does not involve a dollar $ign!
Marketing seems to be going well under way, we have had promising responses from a certain possible key sponsor, which means we could save some money and all, perhaps! As for the subsequent exhibition, I believe YC will be updating me very soon on whether we are going to get the Bugis or Orchard spot for our exhibition! No matter what, well done! We're well on our way to getting huge exposure!
Bazaar is doing really fine, I'm sure all of you have read the emails and received the SMSes, so please adhere to your allocated timings, and it's going to be a huge blast. Last I heard, our bazaar is more than thirty-stalls strong! And kudos to the bazaar for coming up with a simple but effective poster eh (less the Pam Anderson one which was a bit... disturbing)!
Some stuff - please take your medical checkups! The form is already in the shared folders. If you do not know what's the password, I suggest you find out.
Good news also is that, we're very very close to starting construction for the daycare centre. Tricia has kindly spoken to the engineer, and we're able to begin construction with a so-called downpayment - of which should not be a problem once the bazaar concludes itself.
The other good news is that, Project Big Hands, Bigger Hearts has somehow been featured as a project with continuity and will be up for a certain exhibition on the 26th of April. For those who have finished exams then, I appreciate if you would kindly volunteer yourself to represent BHBH3 at the exhibition (because almost everyone has not finished). I will get more details on this, but insofar, I do know that it's some huge event where there're somehow ministers attending and all that. Will let you guys know soon!
(Marketing, please know how to get this info to our sponsors please, haha!)
That's it for now. And just to prepare you guys, there WILL be a meeting this Thursday, and I hope all of you will turn up for the sake of the Bazaar cell, so that we can do some quick briefings on what to do, etc.
OH ONE MORE THING.
The trip will be more or less from 16th May to 5th June (unless any super last minute thing occurs, which for now is no). For those who are traveling, or intend to travel, we need to have a list of your names. This is so that we can settle the air tickets and all that. For those of you who are still deciding, fret not. You have up till 1st April to confirm with me (or Nuanxin or Winnie) whether you will be heading back to Singapore from Manila on the 5th June, or if you are traveling elsewhere. Please note that you are responsible for booking your own flight out of Manila if the destination is not Singapore, and of course, the costs are your own as well. Remember, 1st April!
Alright, see you all!
:)

Dear All,
The meeting tomorrow is on, at the usual time, usual place.
Agenda is as follows:
1. Admin matters
2. Updates by various cells on status
3. Improvement discussions
4. End
As usual, if you cannot make it, please inform either me or Nuanxin or Winnie.
The following are things to consider:
Donations
Consider getting science materials from JCs, or secondary schools, that are clearing the labs etc. The status of the donations need to be updated as well - some progress is appreciated. I hope everybody has been asking their family and friends for books and clothes and all.
If possible, I hope there's a way we can get an encyclopedia set. A set of story books like Enid Blytons are good to have as well, so that we can fill up the library that we are setting up over there with books. This can be a double-job by Marketing as well, if you all can approach some publishers that are willing to sponsor encyclopedia sets or Enid Blytons or whatever.
A lot of the high schools require science reference books, which are essentially OUR textbooks - university level texts. Try to get these. If we really have no way of getting them, we may actually have to BUY second hand, which I don't think is a good idea.
Please remind me to pass you Xiaoming's contact. He got lots of books to supply. Not sure what level etc though.
Marketing
Please try to have a list of sponsors that we want to try approaching. Stationery sponsors, book sponsors if any, any shops clearing out their last seasons' fashion clothes, whatever. The more and the faster we can settle on this, the better.
Many companies out there (see their websites / annual reports) actually have a section in their "about us" devoted to "our company and the community", and describes what kind of community work they support, etc etc. Have a good read through their profiles before sending out a letter - at least you know how they support the community and what are their values - include these in your letters to let them know that you've actually READ their company profiles, and that you want to bring yourselves in sync with them.
Yung Chuan has checked out on NLB exhibition space. Is it the Bugis NLB? Please update me tomorrow on this.
Bazaar
We have a few problems. Just spoke to OSA at length today, and the issue is that we can only have 3 days instead of 4 days. So there, no such thing as 4-day bazaars. Yes I know it feels like we kena con and all that, but there's nothing we can do. If we want to have a mini bazaar, or an alternative way to raise the funds, please think about it.
Foods, need to have NEA license.
For everything else, please remind me to update you girls (Mindy and Ruth) tomorrow.
All
Please remember to go for medical checkup. Get your jabs.
We may need to collect extra $$$ (more than $500, maybe about $200-$300 more) from you guys to offset our possible lack of funds. We will reimburse at the end of the project.
Pre-trip/Pre-expedition project may be conducted between the week of May 8th - May 16th. It will be a two-hour to half-day affair. Short and sweet.
It's a huge rush in March.. I hope everyone's prepared. We need to get lots of things done in this 3 weeks (yes from weekly meetings and short descriptions, it all doesn't seem a lot, but it IS a lot), so we can try to break the whole thing during the first week of April, and we can all go mug for our exams. Hang in there!
Alright see you all tomorrow.
Glyn.
